Globular shaped cactus with up to 12 relatively pronounced ribs.

The ribs are slightly dimpled where the spines emerge.

Part of the cactus has lost its natural pigmentation and has turned yellow.

Outdoors, it withstands the cold well.

Very large, trumpet shaped flower, which opens at night and lasts for a few hours.

The colour of the flower depends on the individual, a typical characteristic of hybridisation.
